Visit Nebraska American Eskimo Rescue on Petfinder for pictures, bios, adoption fees, and lots of other information! NOTE: No adoptable dogs available at the present time.

We promise that your new Eskie is:

  • in good health
    • unless adopted as a "special needs" Eskie with full understanding of medical needs. We will disclose all health and behavior concerns, and will only adopt a "special needs" dog to a home that is able and willing to care for them for the rest of their life.
  • Spayed/Neutered
    • unless under six months old (spay/neuter required by contract when of age)
    • unless there is a significant health risk (breeding not allowed by contract)
  • current on vaccinations
    • Rabies
    • DHLPP (may also include bortadella)
    • and, in at risk regions, be Heartworm negative and on preventative

Ready to Adopt?

All adoptive homes must complete an adoption application prior to adopting. Each application is screened, and reviewed by at least one of our experienced rescuers. Based on the information you provide and a subsequent home visit, our rescuers will match you with an available American Eskimo Dog that best suits your home, family, and expectations.

At the time of the adoption an adoption fee will be charged and you must sign the Nebraska American Eskimo Rescue adoption agreement. The adoption fee is based on the cost of veterinary services in our area; please remember that every penny of your adoption fee goes to save the lives of other Eskies in need. These adoption fees provide "pull fees" at shelters, veterinary care for sick or injured Eskies, food, leashes, and other routine or emergency care for Eskies in the rescue.

Download the adoption application!

After you have filled out the adoption application, please email it to: neheartbandits@windstream.net

Potential adopters are evaluated on an individual basis. Adoptions are not necessarily "first-come-first-served." We will only place Eskies in homes that we feel are ideal to the individual dog's needs. Completion of an adoption application is not an adoption contract or agreement.

Can't Adopt Right Now? Sponsor an Eskie instead!

Picture
Sugar waits to be sprung from the pound!
If you can't adopt or foster an Eskie right now, would you still like to help us rescue more dogs like Sugar, who are waiting in shelters across Nebraska? You can! Sponsor an Eskie by sending a donation of any dollar amount to us, along with the name of the Eskie you want to sponsor. General donations to the rescue are appreciated as well! Then, your donation will be put to work to help feed, vet, and shelter your sponsored dog. We can always use material donations of blankets, rags, used dog crates of either the plastic or wire variety, collars, leashes, combs, toys, or treats. Next time you go out to by Fido a new treat or toy, won't you pick one up for a rescue dog as well? After you make your donation, we will add you and your comments to our page titled, "Our Friends." Businesses are welcome to donate to our rescue as well, and corporate partners are linked to on the "Our Friends" page. We would love to partner with a school or scout group as well!

Contact Jim at neheartbandits@windstream.net to coordinate a time to donate material donations.  The Eskies thank you in advance!
